The dark and mysterious waters of Lake Toba can only be described as 'mystical' to visitors unaccustomed to such natural beauty, while back on land lies a treasure trove of cultural history. Samosir island is home to the Batak Culture that prides itself on family and spirituality, and represents these through its unique architecture.

Indonesia's Best Ever was commissioned to Jungle Run by Discovery Channel Asia. Conceived by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, then headed by Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, the series was shot during the pandemic on the islands of Flores, Komodo, Sulawesi, Lombok, and Java.
